I love futurism, man I eat it up. I read it, I watch it, sometimes I wear it but in general, I love it. And while 2020 has considerably sucked up most of the energy and joy out of most of our lives there is a brand out there that has deserved our attention this year. A brand that stands out amongst the rest and is hopefully soon light years ahead of the rest.
SpaceX, Elon Musk’s space entrepreneurial venture. It’s more than a venture; it is actually considered a billion-dollar contract awarded owner by the US Military. They’re going to be launch 12 missions per year for the US Government. And all the while, their planning, and Elon is planning his space colony on Mars. And while this all seems so surreal, SpaceX launched two astronauts to the ISS space station from the USA, in one of the first missions since 2011.
And it looked damn cool. Their ship looks and plays the part, and with this success and their re-entry re-usable boosters I have to say I am hopeful that both SpaceX and space travel will inspire our future generations to come as it did my own with Nasa’s Meatball back in the 1980s. We grew up with the challenger disaster, but before that, I watched every launch with my father on TV, and now I continue to do so from my own back yard down in Florida.
And with that SpaceX just this past week informed us of where they are headed. Mars and almost everything they hinted at is taking them in that direction. And while this is putting the cart before the horse they are enjoying having fun discussing what the future flag of Mars will be.

What other brands will follow SpaceX? Everyone is watching Virgin Galactic, Blue Origin, Northrop Grumman, and many other brands. They are all working on amazing new things but, the one I am most curious about is Darpa’s EmDrive. Popular Mechanics recently updated their story about the EmDrive and if it will ever see the light of day. I hope the EmDrive will see the light of day because if it does, then future generations might actually achieve visiting other planets. And on that note, live long and prosper, and may the force be with you on your Monday morning.
